Why should I source?

You should source because it is disrespectful to post someone else’s photo on your blog without linking back to the source. The photographer deserves credit for their work. You can put a link back to your blog, but make sure that there is a link to the page where you found the photo. It is also nice to put a link in the caption of the photo or state the photographer’s name.

How would you feel if you took a photo and someone else posted it on their blog without giving you any credit? People would think that they took that photo instead of you. Some photographers may take legal action against you for not giving them credit for the photo, so it is best to be safe.

Besides, if you post a photo without a source, one of the many people who change the links will likely reblog your photo with a link back to gofuckingsource. If you source properly, then a link to your blog will still be in one of the links.
